  • Vassar Brothers Medical Center is seeking a
  • licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
  • to provide direct patient care across
  • pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
  • . The PTA will assist Physical Therapists in executing prescribed care plans, ensuring patients achieve maximum functional outcomes. This position is open to candidates with experience in

    • Key Responsibilities
    • Deliver direct patient care to ensure effectiveness of physical therapy programs.
    • Manage an assigned patient caseload, providing appropriate treatment and modifications as needed.
    • Assist Physical Therapists in re-evaluating patient status and progressing therapy programs.
    • Prioritize caseloads and treatment times for maximum efficiency.
    • Utilize proper modalities of treatment, recommending variations to protocols when appropriate.
    • Recognize contraindications to therapy and consult with supervising therapists as needed.
    • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with departmental standards.
    • Collaborate with hospital personnel to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
    • Support the department's educational environment by providing clinical instruction to PTA students.
    • Promote a safe, respectful, and compliant working environment adhering to VBMC and Nuvance Health policies.
    • Demonstrate consistent, reliable attendance and model organizational values.
    • Qualifications
    • Active New York State Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license
    • required.
    • Experience in
    • acute care, subacute care, or rehabilitation
    • preferred.
    • Strong communication, clinical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Commitment to patient-centered care and departmental standards.
    • Working Conditions
    • Manual skills and physical effort required to assist patients in therapy.
    • Exposure to hospital environment including noise, odors, and human waste.
    • Ability to lift and move patients as needed.
