GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Physical Therapy Assistant is responsible for patient care under the direction of a Physical Therapist. Supervises and aids in direct patient care and related activities as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides physical therapy treatments according to the physical therapists' treatment plan; Communicates with manager and other health care interdisciplinary team members regarding patient progress, problems or plans; Records daily treatment notes, portions of monthly progress notes, and discharge summaries timely and completely; Maintain patient records confidentially; Records treatment charges daily and completes charge tickets in accurate and timely manner; Implements and executes an established patient treatment plan under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. Communicates with patient, families, referring physicians and other members of the team. Provides timely written documentation per facility and department requirements. Develops and enhances clinical and professional skills through knowledge and professional associations. Communicates with patient, families and other clinical staff of treatment variations. Provides timely written documentation as required by insurance provider to meet licensing, certification, regulatory, reimbursement requirements and physician treatment plan. Supports and participates in department operations and development. Reports any changes in patient status or needs to supervising therapist on a timely basis. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned;
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program; Current New York State Physical Therapist Assistant license; CPR certification required; One year as a Physical Therapy Assistant or comparable internship; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff and management

This is an "in office" position in a safe work environment (COVID safety protocols in effect).
