Physical Therapist Assistant

Our growing Orthopedics and Pain Management office is looking for a bilingual Physical Therapist Assistant to join the team at the Yonkers, NY location. We are located across the street from St. John's Riverside Hospital. Interested candidates must be available to work Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9am - 7pm . You will work closely the Physical Therapist and assist with providing treatment to those with medical problems or other conditions that limit their ability to move or perform functional activities. Salary is based on experience and applicants will be compensated accordingly. Responsibilities Assist the PT with initial assessments and appropriate physical therapy treatment to each individual patient Instruct and counsel patients effectively in exercises Assist the PT with identifying patient's needs and adapt according to them Apply the latest research related to restoring function, reducing symptoms frequency, and preventing injury Help complete documentation and follow-up notes to support the delivery of physical therapy services Measure performance and report on patient's medical record Participate in patient status judgments Adhere to ethical and legal standards Ensure continued competence and updated field knowledge Skills Bilingual in English and Spanish Prior experience working in a physical therapy office Knowledge of physiology best practices and standards is recommended. Prior experience with therapeutic exercises, functional training and physical modalities will be an advantage. Ability to communicate and instruct effectively Health care administration and documentation skills Experience with no-fault, worker's compensation, and LIEN cases are a plus
