Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with licensed physical therapists to provide high-quality patient care across various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and skilled nursing facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of anatomy and physiology, as well as experience in diverse areas such as orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and acute care. Your expertise in trigger point therapy and discharge planning will be invaluable in developing effective care plans tailored to each patient's needs. Responsibilities Assist physical therapists in implementing treatment plans for patients with various conditions. Provide hands-on patient care, utilizing techniques such as trigger point therapy and physiotherapy. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary under the supervision of a licensed therapist. Educate patients and their families on exercises and rehabilitation techniques to promote recovery. Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments, progress notes, and care plans. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care in settings such as home health, outpatient clinics, and skilled nursing facilities. Participate in discharge planning to facilitate smooth transitions for patients leaving acute care or rehabilitation settings. Requirements Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assisting or related field. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is essential. Experience in skilled nursing facilities or acute care settings is preferred. Familiarity with patient populations including geriatrics and pediatrics is advantageous. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare teams. Ability to develop individualized care plans based on patient assessments. Commitment to providing compassionate care while promoting patient independence. Certification or licensure as required by state regulations.
