Physical Therapy Assistant

•Physical Therapy Assistant•Heritage is seeking a Part-Time or full time (split) PTA to join our in-house therapy team. The split position is between Winchester (3 days) and Embassy of Pickerington (2 days). Part-Time status offers PTO accrual and flexible scheduling.

In this role, you will work closely with licensed physical therapists to implement treatment plans and assist patients in their recovery process. Your expertise will contribute to improving the quality of life for individuals recovering from injuries, surgeries, or managing chronic conditions. This position is ideal for those who are passionate about patient care and have a strong foundation in physical therapy practices. Responsibilities Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized care plans for patients. Provide therapeutic exercises and modalities to patients under the supervision of a licensed therapist. Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the supervising therapist. Educate patients and their families on exercises, techniques, and home care strategies. Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress notes. Collaborate with healthcare professionals in various settings including outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments. Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care for patients transitioning out of therapy. Skills Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy to effectively assist in patient treatments. Experience with orthopedics and outpatient therapy practices is highly desirable. Familiarity with skilled nursing facilities and home health care settings. Ability to develop and follow comprehensive care plans tailored to individual patient needs. Proficient in discharge planning processes to facilitate smooth transitions for patients. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
