Chesterhill, McConnelsville, Malta, Stockport, Bremen, Rushville, Corning, Hemlock, Junction City, New Lexington, New Straitsville, Shawnee, Moxahala, and Glouster Position Summary The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) provides skilled in-home therapy services under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist. This role focuses on patient safety, functional improvement, education, and accurate clinical documentation while maintaining compliance with all state and federal regulations. What We Offer Guaranteed base hourly rate Generous uncapped bonus structure Mileage reimbursement Additional bonus opportunities Flexible scheduling Dedicated support team for scheduling and patient admissions Competitive benefits package, including: 401(k) participation Company-paid life insurance Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Qualifications & Attributes Current Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of employment Minimum 1 year of PTA experience in an acute care setting required Home health experience preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Knowledge of therapy best practices Sound clinical judgment and problem-solving skills Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively Valid driver's license and active auto insurance with employee listed as a driver Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care & Treatment Provide skilled physical therapy services in patients' homes per the Physical Therapist's plan of care Observe, record, and report patient progress, reactions, and changes Perform prescribed therapy procedures and diagnostic tests Assist patients in pain relief, mobility, and functional restoration using: Exercise Massage Heat and water therapies Other therapeutic modalities Assess functional limitations and assist in achieving therapy goals Recommend or evaluate prosthetic/orthotic devices and make minor adjustments as appropriate Patient & Family Education Educate patients and families on: Therapy techniques Safety measures Supportive home activities Proper use of equipment such as walkers, braces, wheelchairs, crutches, and canes Encourage patient independence and reduce reliance on agency support Communication & Coordination Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, schedulers, and coworkers Participate in case conferences and care coordination activities Notify scheduling staff of any patient or visit changes Assist with orientation and training of new employees Attend required meetings, trainings, and in-service sessions Documentation & Compliance Complete all clinical documentation in accordance with agency policies and Medicare/Federal guidelines Document treatments, assessments, patient education, and visit details accurately
Complete:
Routine visit documentation within 24 hours Start of care documentation within 48 hours Participate in chart audits as requested Essential Functions Travel to patient homes for scheduled visits Maintain consistent attendance at assigned locations Follow the established plan of care within PTA scope of practice Complete and submit all required documentation within company timelines
Note:
Per-visit compensation includes payment for: Patient care Preparation time Travel Supply pickup/lab drops Charting Communication with families and healthcare providers Health & Physical RequirementsHealth Requirements Must meet all physical job requirements Current negative TB test or chest x-ray required at orientation Annual TB testing required thereafter Must be free from medical conditions that would interfere with job performance May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens Physical DemandsConstantly (66-100%) Reading, writing, and speaking English Communication and computer/PDA use Hand/finger dexterity Hearing and vision Walking, sitting, standing, bending Talking/hearing in person and by phone Frequently (34-66%) Driving Lifting up to 50 lbs. (with or without assistance)
