PTA Float Pool

JOB SUMMARY

Provide services to patients/clients who have impairments, functional limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease or other causes. Restores function, provide prevention education, promote health, wellness and fitness, alleviate pain and prevent/ minimize disability. Provides therapy coverage at multiple locations and/or levels of care as determined by staffing needs. Staffing assignments will be determined by manager and will generally not exceed three consecutive months in any one location.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS

Works at a variety of different physical sites and/or Levels of Care (e.g., Outpatient, Inpatient) as assigned.

CLINICAL SKILLS

Delivers quality care Pursues educational opportunities Shares knowledge with others Uses a wide variety of techniques & technologies Customizes treatment & communications to individual patient needs (IE cultural & cognitive) Plans for discharge appropriate to setting & circumstances in a timely manner (IE HEP, equipment, family teaching) Routinely communicates results of treatments and issues with supervising PT/OT Follows care plan as developed and consults supervising therapist regarding changes or deviations prior to adjustment if appropriate.

DOCUMENTATION

Uses objective measurements appropriate to substantiate care Completes documentation on the date of service Interventions selected match treatment delivered & meet regulatory standards (IE 3 hr. rule, 8 min. rule) Documentation substantiates charges selected Documentation meets clinical policy & procedure guidelines (frequency, timeliness-weekly/monthly notes & discharge instructions)

By understanding and adhering to current standards of practice for physical therapy, guide for professional conduct including the code of ethics and practice guidelines established by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. By providing appropriate supervision to physical therapy aides and students.
