The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will provide direct patient care and implement therapy treatments under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The primary goal is to help patients who are recovering from injuries, illnesses, or surgeries manage pain, regain mobility, and restore physical function. Job description
What You'll Do:
  • Provide physical therapy treatments under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, following state practice guidelines
  • Assist in identifying appropriate patients for therapy and recommend options, courses of action or modifications in selected treatments ensuring patient's progress, safety and comfort in coordination with the Physical Therapist for evaluation and referral.
  • Implement selected components of care and interventions in a technically competent manner
  • Instruct and counsel patients effectively in exercises
  • Identify patient's needs and exhibit compassion, caring, and empathy to individual differences
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure quality outcomes
  • Maintain documentation to meet all regulatory requirements
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Applicants must possess basic computer literacy skills
Qualifications:
Degree from an APTA-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program Current license as Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of Pennsylvania BLS/CPR Certification Strong communication and organizational skills Prior experience working with patients that have complex wound infection and/or amputation is not required but preferred
Pay:
$26.25 - $37.25 per hour
