Full Time & PRN Available Ortho and Sports Therapy Institute (OSTI Alamo) - 515 E. Business Hwy 83Suite A Physical Therapist Assistant Sign On Bonus:
1 year $5,000 or 2 years $10,000Referral Bonus:
$1,500 Mentoring and specializationPOSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for administering physical therapy modalities of treatment as supervised by the staff physical therapist. Administers treatments and physical agents as directed by the staff physical therapist, after the physical therapist has evaluated the patient. The PTA assists with restoration of patient functioning to prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability. Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. The PTA participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in CQI activities. Participates in all infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational safety and fire safety programs.POSITION EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduate of accredited physical therapist assistant school required
- Current physical therapist assistant license in the State of Texas required
- Current BLS certification required
- Organizational skills is necessary
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Bilingual preferred.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of nursing, administration, and physicians
- Prefer outpatient rehabilitation experience
JOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Basic knowledge of physical medicine, physical therapy modalities, anatomy and physiology.
- Basic knowledge of physical therapy machine operation, maintenance and repairs of same.
