Responsibilities may include implementing treatment plans, conducting therapeutic exercises, monitoring patient progress, and documenting patient responses to therapy. PTAs may also educate patients and their families on home exercise programs and assist in developing discharge plans.
Requirements:

Education:
Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program. 2.
Licensure:
Must hold a valid Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of Texas. 3.
Experience:
Some nursing homes may require previous experience working as a PTA in a similar setting. 4.
CPR Certification:
Current CPR certification may be required. 5.
Communication Skills:
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with elderly patients. 6.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to assist patients with physical therapy exercises and activities. 7.
Compliance:
Knowledge of and adherence to state regulations and guidelines related to physical therapy practice.
