Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team on a PRN basis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in physiotherapy practices, with experience across inpatient, outpatient, and skilled nursing facility settings. This role involves delivering high-quality patient care, supporting discharge planning, and assisting in the development of individualized care plans for diverse patient populations. Responsibilities Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing treatment plans for patients across various settings such as inpatient, outpatient, home health, and skilled nursing facilities. Utilize specialized techniques including trigger point therapy to alleviate pain and improve mobility. Conduct patient assessments and monitor progress while maintaining detailed documentation of treatment sessions. Support discharge planning by preparing patients for transition to home or other care environments. Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to ensure safe and effective therapy interventions. Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, mobility aids, and injury prevention strategies. Maintain a clean and organized treatment environment while adhering to all safety protocols and healthcare regulations. Experience Prior experience working in inpatient facilities, skilled nursing facilities, or outpatient clinics is highly desirable. Demonstrated expertise in physiotherapy techniques such as trigger point therapy and patient care management. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and care plan development tailored to diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatrics. Experience supporting discharge planning processes within acute care or outpatient settings. Familiarity with orthopedic rehabilitation, geriatrics, sports injuries, or pediatric therapy is advantageous. Proven ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver comprehensive patient care.
