As a ministry of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, St. Dominic Village provides a seamless continuum of care, comprised of short-term rehabilitation, skilled nursing care, assisted living, independent living, the Archbishop Joseph A. Fiorenza Priest Retirement Residence, and respite care services. Benefits & Compensation Competitive compensation Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various settings including skilled nursing & assisted living facilities, outpatient clinics, hospitals, and home health environments. This role involves assessing patients' physical conditions, developing personalized treatment plans, and providing hands-on therapy to help patients regain mobility and improve their quality of life. A strong background in orthopedics, geriatrics and medical terminology is highly desirable. Responsibilities Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' physical abilities and limitations. Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments and goals. Implement therapeutic interventions to improve patients' strength, flexibility, and mobility. Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, exercises, and home care strategies. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. Stay updated on the latest advancements in physical therapy practices and techniques. Provide support for patients recovering from surgeries or injuries in. Requirements Graduate from a CAPTE accredited Physical Therapy program Current Texas license in good standing Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to physical therapy practices. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare teams. Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements. Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills. Working knowledge of computer and EMR used in job functions. Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment. Commitment to providing high-quality patient care with empathy and professionalism.
