Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) -
Outpatient Cardiopulmonary Rehab Clinic Location:
Breathing Center of Houston (Woodlands Location)
THE OPPORTUNITY
We're looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate PTA to join our Woodlands clinic, one of five Breathing Center of Houston locations across the greater Houston area. You'll work directly with patients in a specialized outpatient cardiopulmonary rehab setting, helping individuals with COPD, pulmonary fibrosis, asthma, long COVID, deconditioning, cardiovascular limitations, and pre/post lung transplant recovery improve endurance, mobility, and quality of life. This is not a high-volume, assembly-line caseload. You'll spend real time with each patient, track meaningful progress, and work in a structured outpatient environment where clinical quality comes first. WHY PTAs
LOVE WORKING HERE
Monday-Friday Schedule:
No nights, no weekends, no on-call. Your evenings and weekends are yours.
Manageable Caseloads:
Enough time with each patient to deliver care you can be proud of, not rushed through.
Real Mentorship:
Learn from experienced clinicians who are invested in your growth, not just your productivity numbers.
Specialized Experience:
Build a niche skill set in cardiopulmonary rehab that sets your resume apart from day one.
Optional Growth Opportunities:
For PTAs who are interested, there may also be opportunities to be involved in research or program development. This is a bonus opportunity, not a requirement of the role.
WHAT YOUR DAY LOOKS LIKE
You'll work directly with patients in a one-on-one outpatient setting, guiding them through individualized exercise programs, endurance training, breathing strategies, functional mobility, and education to help them manage their conditions and regain independence. You'll monitor vitals, track progress through our electronic medical records system, and collaborate closely with supervising PTs and referring physicians to optimize patient outcomes. Every patient who walks through our doors is working toward something, climbing stairs without stopping, walking farther with confidence, returning to daily life, or reducing limitations from chronic cardiopulmonary disease. You'll be the person who helps them get there.
