PRN Location:
Blacksburg, VA and surrounding areas Position Summary We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Home Health Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our growing team. The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide in-home therapy services that help patients improve mobility, strength, balance, and overall functional independence. This position offers flexibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in patients' lives within the comfort of their homes. Responsibilities Provide physical therapy treatments as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist and physician orders Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, transfer training, and mobility improvement Observe and document patient responses to treatment and report changes in condition to the Physical Therapist Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation in the electronic medical record Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and safety techniques Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members Participate in care planning and case conferences as needed Maintain compliance with Medicare, state, and agency regulations Travel to patient homes within assigned territory Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program Current PTA license in the state of Virginia Minimum of one year of experience preferred; home health experience a plus Current CPR certification Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Please be aware this is a job summary, not an all-inclusive listing of the tasks and duties for this position.
