Duties Assist physical therapists during patient evaluations and therapy sessions by setting up equipment and providing hands-on support. Prepare treatment areas and ensure all necessary supplies are ready for each session. Support patient intake procedures, including gathering medical history and explaining therapy plans to patients. Monitor patient progress and report observations to the supervising therapist to optimize treatment plans. Maintain accurate documentation of patient activities, progress notes, and treatment logs in accordance with hospital or clinic protocols. Ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance of therapy equipment and treatment spaces. Provide compassionate patient service by addressing questions, offering encouragement, and ensuring patient comfort throughout sessions. Skills Strong knowledge of human physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy. Prior hospital or clinical experience in outpatient, inpatient, or post-acute care settings. Familiarity with orthopedic, geriatrics, and sub-acute care practices enhances your ability to support diverse patient needs. Excellent patient service skills with a caring attitude focused on patient care and safety. Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments such as hospital medicine or outpatient clinics. Experience with intake procedures and supporting patients through their rehabilitation process. Knowledge of acute care protocols and inpatient/post-acute care workflows is highly desirable.
