Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in physiotherapy practices, with a focus on delivering comprehensive patient care across diverse clinical settings. As a vital member of the rehabilitation team, the Physical Therapist Assistant will work closely with licensed physical therapists to implement treatment plans, assist patients in their recovery journey, and promote optimal functional outcomes. Duties Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs. Provide hands-on therapeutic interventions, including trigger point therapy, to alleviate pain and improve mobility. Support patients across various settings such as inpatient units, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, home health environments, and acute care hospitals. Monitor patient progress and document responses to treatments accurately, ensuring adherence to established care plans. Educate patients and their families on physiotherapy techniques, exercises, and injury prevention strategies. Participate in discharge planning by assessing patient progress and coordinating follow-up care or referrals as needed. Maintain a safe and clean treatment environment while adhering to all health and safety regulations. Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and ensure seamless care delivery. Skills Proficiency in physiotherapy techniques including trigger point therapy and other manual therapies. Strong knowledge of human physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy practice. Experience working with diverse patient populations such as geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, and those requiring outpatient or inpatient rehabilitation. Familiarity with care planning processes, discharge procedures, and documentation standards within skilled nursing facilities or home health settings. Ability to effectively communicate treatment goals and progress to patients, families, and healthcare team members. Prior experience in outpatient clinics or orthopedic rehabilitation environments is highly desirable. Knowledge of acute care protocols and familiarity with physiotherapy applications in hospital settings. $34.32 - $36.00 per hour
