edu Position Details Job Summary The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program in the College of Health Science and Public Health Administration at Eastern Washington University (EWU) invites applications for a full-time (9 month) tenure-track faculty appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank to begin August 16, 2026. We desire a team-oriented individual who will collaborate to deliver an excellent educational experience in a student-centered environment. Qualified candidates with all areas of expertise are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to applicants with interest and experience teaching the integumentary system, cardiovascular and pulmonary systems, lifespan development, professional responsibilities and/or introductory examination and intervention skills. Rank will be determined based on experience and qualifications. Senior rank faculty (i.e., associate and full professor) are encouraged to apply. The DPT Program is located at EWU Spokane, a health sciences campus with modern space and facilities next to downtown Spokane. The Spokane campus is a satellite of EWU's main campus in Cheney, WA, a short 20-minute drive from Downtown Spokane. Our residential DPT Program is 33 months in length, has 9 full-time faculty members, and admits 38 students each fall. Opportunities for summer teaching may be available. Our longstanding program has been CAPTE accredited for decades. Spokane is the heart of the Inland Northwest, with excellent restaurants, theaters, shopping, skiing, hiking, lakes, and high-quality schools and affordable housing. The expected salary upon hire is $76,262 (Assistant Professor), $91,576 (Associate Professor) and $116,464 (Full Professor). Job Duties % of Time 100 Responsibility / Duty Position responsibilities include teaching doctoral-level courses consistent with expertise and department needs, advising DPT students, active participation in research and scholarship activities, and service to the university, community, and profession. A Faculty Activity Plan will be developed by the end of the first semester of the appointment. Additionally, all faculty are expected to: engage in effective teaching and assessment of student learning, meet all scheduled classes, plan, organize and inform students of the course content, texts, readings, assignments, attendance regulations and methods of evaluation including grading scales, schedule and attend office hours, turn in grades according to established deadlines, advise students on Department, College and University requirements and career opportunities, supervise students in laboratory and simulated learning experiences, collaborate with faculty to design high-quality focused experiential learning activities, and facilitate relevancy between department curriculum and industry needs. Maintaining current and valid licensure, as required by the position, is the responsibility of the employee and shall be done at their own expense.
