Job Description

Proven experience in medical billing or coding is required. Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Billing Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will handle all billing processes, ensuring accuracy in medical coding, Deal with Insurance verification's, authorizations, denials and appeal processes with many Insurance companies including Workers Comp and Auto Med Pay, United Healthcare, Highmark, UMR PEIA and others and be able to use various Insurance websites. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems and anatomy, as well as the ability to work collaboratively within a medical office environment. Responsibilities Review and process patient billing information accurately and efficiently. Relay to patient cost and their benefits. Must have the ability to apply Insurance payments to the EHR accounting program. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, coding practices, and regulations. Handle medical records with precision, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA guidelines. Manage medical collections by following up on outstanding accounts and resolving discrepancies including the appeal process for many Ins. co. Collaborate with healthcare provider and office staff to clarify any issues related to billing or coding. Accept training by knowledgeable staff since chiropractic billing can be a complicated system. Experience Familiarity with ICD-10 codes for chiropractic billing is a plus. Strong understanding of medical office operations and systems. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in using billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems is advantageous.
