Summary of Job Duties:

The Advanced Practice Nurse/Physician Assistant rotates with attending physicians in the OR clinic and rotates through all the orthopedic subspecialties. They will assist the surgeon with clinic, organize visits, and perform clinic procedures; assist in the operating room; answer pages; and round on post-operative patients on a daily and PRN basis. The APRN/PA will be responsible for managing postoperative outpatient care, answering telephone inquiries, and filling prescriptions. APRN/PA must have a high level of expertise to perform assessments/diagnosis/treatment of actual/potential problems of patients.

APRN:

Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with a Master's in Nursing Valid Licenses as a Registered Nurse and APRN by the State of Arkansas

PA:

Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program Valid license as a PA by the State of Arkansas

PLUS:

Must be able to operate all typical nursing equipment essential to performing the job (i.e., scales, procedure equipment, needles, blood pressure equipment, and EKG machines). Must have normal communication and sensory requirements. Ability to comply with CDC Universal Precautions when indicated.
