Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Physician Assistant specializing in Dermatology to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of dermatological conditions, advanced clinical skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care. This role offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, utilizing cutting-edge technology and evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes. The Physician Assistant will be responsible for performing detailed patient assessments, assisting with dermatological procedures, and supporting ongoing research initiatives within the dermatology department. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including medical history review, physical examinations, and assessment of dermatological conditions. Assist dermatologists with clinical procedures such as dermal filler injections, dermabrasion, laser treatments, and suturing. Administer treatments including botulinum toxin injections and dermal fillers while ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and safety protocols. Manage patient care plans, including medication administration, wound care, and post-procedure follow-up. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner to document clinical encounters accurately and efficiently. Support clinical research projects by collecting data, managing medical records, and assisting with clinical trials related to dermatological therapies. Provide patient education on skin health, treatment options, and preventive care strategies aligned with HIPAA regulations. Participate in triage activities within outpatient or urgent care settings to prioritize patient needs effectively. Qualifications Current and unrestricted Arizona Physician Assistant license, with authorisation to practice in the applicable jurisdiction. Valid DEA registration/license in good standing. Demonstrated experience in dermatology or related outpatient clinical settings; hospital experience preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks; telehealth experience is advantageous. Knowledge of dermatological procedures, including dermal fillers, Botox (botulinum toxin treatment), dermabrasion, and laser therapy. Strong clinical skills in physical examinations, patient assessment, and diagnostic evaluation of skin conditions. Experience with acute care management including triage, pain management, and infection control practices. Excellent communication skills coupled with the ability to educate patients effectively on treatment plans and skin health maintenance.
