In this vital role, you will provide high-quality patient care across various clinical settings, including hospital, outpatient, and urgent care environments. Your expertise will support physicians and other healthcare professionals in delivering comprehensive medical services, ensuring optimal patient outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a passion for patient-centered care, and the ability to adapt to diverse medical situations with confidence and enthusiasm. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations, vital signs, and medical history intake to determine appropriate care plans. Assist in diagnostic evaluation processes utilizing EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks to document findings accurately. Administer injections, medications, and treatments such as botulinum toxin therapy and dermal fillers following aseptic techniques and safety protocols. Perform procedures including suturing, phlebotomy, catheterization, airway management, and basic life support during emergencies. Manage acute pain and critical care cases by applying knowledge of physiology, ventilator management, ICU protocols, and trauma center procedures. Collaborate with healthcare teams on discharge planning, hospice & palliative medicine strategies, and post-acute care coordination. Support clinical research initiatives by collecting data, participating in clinical trials, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Utilize EMR systems like Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation of patient care activities including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and medical records management. Engage in health coaching and patient education to promote wellness, disease prevention, and chronic disease management across diverse populations such as geriatrics, pediatrics, neonatal patients, or senior care settings. Participate in triage assessments in emergency room or urgent care settings to prioritize patient needs efficiently while maintaining high standards of infection control. Experience Proven experience as a Physician Assistant in hospital medicine or outpatient clinics with exposure to emergency medicine or critical care environments. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner; telehealth experience is highly desirable. Hands-on experience performing procedures including suturing, dermabrasion, radiation therapy assistance, or esthetic laser treatments is a plus. Background working within Level I or Level II trauma centers or
NICU/PICU
settings is preferred; ICU experience is highly valued. Familiarity with infectious disease care protocols, pain management strategies including botulinum toxin treatment, and acute care procedures like gastric lavage or spinal tap. Knowledge of medical coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding for procedures and services; experience with data collection for research purposes enhances your candidacy. Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology principles combined with excellent patient assessment skills to deliver comprehensive primary or specialty care. Ability to work effectively within hospital environments such as nursing homes or outpatient clinics while adhering to NCQA standards and HIPAA compliance.
