Position Overview The Physician Assistant will work closely with our nephrologists to provide comprehensive inpatient nephrology care in hospitals, long-term acute care hospitals (LTACs), and skilled nursing facilities throughout the region. This role offers a predictable schedule, collaborative physician support, and the opportunity to develop long-term relationships with patients and healthcare teams. Schedule Full-time position Monday-Friday schedule One weekend per month required Shared holiday coverage rotation Primarily inpatient rounding Responsibilities Evaluate and manage patients with acute and chronic kidney disease Conduct daily inpatient rounds in hospitals and post-acute care facilities Develop and implement treatment plans under physician supervision Monitor laboratory results and adjust care plans accordingly Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, case managers, dialysis providers, and specialists Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently within the electronic medical record Participate in patient and family education regarding kidney disease, dialysis, and treatment options Communicate effectively with supervising nephrologists regarding patient care plans Assist with transitions of care and discharge planning Qualifications Required Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program Current California Physician Assistant license or eligibility for licensure Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain) Current BLS certification Strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with supervising physicians Preferred Inpatient, hospital medicine, internal medicine, nephrology, critical care, or post-acute care experience Experience working with medically complex patients New graduates with strong clinical rotations and a demonstrated interest in nephrology are encouraged to apply What We Offer Competitive compensation package Comprehensive benefits package Paid time off and paid holidays CME allowance and professional development support Collaborative physician mentorship Extensive nephrology training and onboarding Stable, long-term career growth opportunity Supportive team culture focused on excellent patient care Why Join Our Practice?
