Job Description

Cardiovascular Surgery APP (NP/PA) Locum Opportunity
  • Redding, CA A Level II Trauma Center in Redding, California is seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) for locum coverage.
Candidates must have recent and substantial Cardiovascular Surgery experience, including extensive Endovascular Vein Harvesting (EVH) experience.
Compensation:
Hourly:
$180/hr,
Night Call:
$350/shift, Call back: $270/hr. Position Overview Coverage Dates July 13
  • July 16, 2026 Schedule 7:00 AM
  • 5:00 PM onsite clinical coverage Night call from 5:00 PM
  • 7:00 AM Weekend schedule follows the same structure Call-back volume is minimal (average 1-2 hours)
Practice Setting Hospital-based Cardiovascular Surgery Program Level II Trauma Center EMR:
Cerner Care B with SurgiNet Credentialing timeframe: 30-60 days Clinical Responsibilities The APP will work directly with the Cardiovascular Surgery team providing perioperative and postoperative patient care, including: First assisting in cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures Endovascular Vein Harvesting (EVH) Daily inpatient rounding Postoperative patient management Documentation and progress notes Assisting surgeons with care planning and patient management Participating in outpatient follow-up clinic Surgical Volume & Patient Load Approximately 10-11 cardiac surgeries per month Additional thoracic surgery cases Less than 10 cardiovascular surgery patients hospitalized at any given time Outpatient follow-up clinic held Tuesdays and Thursdays Up to 6 clinic patients per session Required Skills & Procedures Recent Cardiovascular Surgery First Assist experience Extensive Endovascular Vein Harvesting (EVH) experience Experience using Maquet Hemopro 2 EVH system Postoperative cardiovascular surgery patient management Inpatient rounding and documentation Preferred Experience Thoracic surgery assisting Level II Trauma Center experience Qualifications Required Board Certified NP or PA Active State License ACLS Certification BLS Certification DEA Registration Clean malpractice history Current active staff privileges at a Joint Commission-accredited facility Availability for all listed coverage dates Mandatory at Presentation Self-Query NPDB report dated within 30 days Detailed description of recent cardiovascular surgery experience Detailed EVH experience and case volume Travel Preferred local candidates, but travel providers will be considered.
