Job Description
Physician Assistant / Associate California Maternal Fetal Medicine is looking for a NP/ PA to diagnose and consult on high-risk pregnancy health conditions. As an NP/ PA, you'll be our go-to person for ensuring the best patient care possible. The job description of a NP/ PA includes conducting consultations in -person as well as via telehealth, interpreting lab tests and providing clinical support to our Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) team. You'll be both a health practitioner and an educator, supporting disease prevention practices and helping pregnant mothers lead healthy lives. You should have experience in one of the following NP/ PA specialties: acute care, neonatal care, pediatrics, cardiology, family health, women's health or psychiatry. Clinical experience on OB/GYN care is preferred. As a NP/ PA, you'll have to work closely with other healthcare professionals, so you should have a team spirit and a positive attitude. Patience, problem-solving skills and communication ability are important. Responsibilities Conducting consultations (in-person or virtually) at the main office. Ensures consultation letters are accurate, complete, and successfully faxed to the referring provider. Assists the MFM in counseling patients about simple ultrasound findings. Assists the MFM in calling out abnormal genetic test results to the patient. Supervises the clinical assistants in their clinical tasks. Communicates as directed with hospitals and referring providers for clinical matters. Skills Proven experience as NP/ PA in a clinic, hospital, ER or other setting. Expertise in OB/GYN, primary care, or acute care. Knowledge of health and patient care regulations. Excellent communication skills. Strong ethics. Team spirit with a positive attitude. Willingness to continue gaining knowledge and clinical experience. Valid nurse practitioner on physician assistant license.
