Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in wound care but is not required; on the job training will be provided as necessary. As a key member of our wound care team, you will play a vital role in assessing, treating, and managing complex wounds, while collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Location & Schedule Part Time, 16-20 hours per week Primarily office-based, including the following office locations; Fairfield, Trumbull, Shelton and Orange with possible rounding at local acute rehab facilities
Essential Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive wound assessments and develop individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based guidelines and best practices Provide wound care procedures/treatments autonomously including debridement, I&D, wound culture, etc. Utilize advanced wound care modalities, such as negative pressure wound therapy, bioengineered skin substitutes, to optimize wound healing outcomes. Educate patients and caregivers on proper techniques, prevention strategies and the importance of adherence to treatment plans Utilize electronic health record systems for documentation Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies Demonstrates organization, flexibility, and cooperation in performing job responsibilities Prescribe medications, including narcotics, controlled substances or class scheduled drugs with Supervising Physician's documentation in the patient medical record Performs other duties as assigned by their supervisor
Education & Experience Requirements:
Valid Nurse Practitioner or PA-C license in state of Connecticut Valid Controlled substance and DEA license 2+ years of wound care experience preferred What we offer: Competitive salary, 401(k) contributions, and company-paid life insurance. In addition to our orthopaedic service line, we have three MRI suites, (5) acute care orthopaedic walk-in centers and a surgery center in Branford.
