Advanced practice provider Critical care experience Medical terminology Physician Assistant License PA-C Full Job Description Job Overview Bay Surgical Specialists is seeking a motivated and team-oriented Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our growing vascular surgery practice in St. Petersburg, Florida. This position offers a unique blend of inpatient, outpatient, surgical, and hospital-based care alongside a collaborative team of vascular surgeons. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing both clinic and hospital responsibilities, and providing compassionate, high-quality patient care independently under physician supervision. This role includes first assisting in surgery, inpatient rounding, consults, clinic visits, and coordination of care across multiple hospital systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a PA who enjoys variety in their day-to-day schedule, values autonomy, and wants hands-on experience in vascular surgery and perioperative care. Schedule & Work Environment Full-time position with weekday clinical and hospital responsibilities Schedule varies based on clinic, OR, consult, and hospital patient needs Shared weekend call rotation approximately 3 weekends out of a 4-month period. Work alongside 3 vascular surgeons and an additional PA Practice setting includes: outpatient clinic, office-based lab (OBL), operating room, and inpatient hospital rounding and consults Responsibilities Conduct patient evaluations, follow-up visits, and postoperative assessments in both inpatient and outpatient settings Independently see clinic patients under physician oversight First assist in vascular surgery procedures Write operative notes, postoperative orders, and prescriptions Perform hospital rounds and assist with inpatient consults Coordinate care plans, discharge planning, and follow-up treatment Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing staff, MAs, and hospital teams Maintain accurate and timely documentation within multiple EMR systems Travel between affiliated hospitals and clinical locations as needed Call Expectations Shared weekend call rotation - 3 weekends out of a 4-month period Weekend responsibilities may include: morning rounding, assisting in surgeries, supporting urgent vascular cases if needed Schedule coordinated collaboratively with the other PA Qualifications Current Physician Assistant license in the State of Florida Prior surgical, vascular, hospital, or critical care experience preferred Comfortable working independently in clinic and hospital settings Strong clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills Experience with Epic, Cerner, Meditech, or Greenway EMR preferred
