Piedmont Atlanta Responsibilities:
APP Neurosurgery Piedmont Atlanta Piedmont Healthcare is recruiting for a Physician Assistant to join a very busy Neurosurgical practice on our Piedmont Atlanta campus. This position typically requires working two full clinic days, two surgery days and one administrative/pre-op day per week, in addition to call.
In this role you will:
Occasional assist in the OR as coverage is needed. Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations and record data in patients medical record in ambulatory practice. Clinical responsibilities require thorough attention to detail. Evaluate and treat patients to achieve optimal patient care. Write progress notes; prepare patient work-ups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings. Develop plans of care that minimize complications and successfully troubleshoot problems when they arise. Apply preventative and alternative treatment strategies for possible procedural complications. Complete pre-op appointments for all surgical patients, work with supervising physician to ensure all required labs, clearances and testing is satisfactorily complete well before surgery. Manage first call on a rotating basis, typically one 3 day weekend in 6 and 2-4 additional weeknight call shifts per month
