Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled PA or APRN to join our Cardiovascular Surgery team. This role will provide comprehensive support to a cardiovascular surgeon, including both outpatient clinic visits and inpatient hospital consultations, with the potential to assist as First Assist in the Operating Room (OR).
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct pre- and post-operative assessments in both clinic and hospital settings Perform hospital rounds and consultations in collaboration with the cardiovascular surgeon Assist in surgical procedures as First Assist (if credentialed and trained) Coordinate patient care plans and communicate with multidisciplinary teams Document patient encounters and maintain accurate medical records Educate patients and families on treatment plans and post-operative care Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical meetings
Qualifications:
Current licensure as a PA or APRN in GA Certification by NCCPA (for PAs) or national certification in a relevant APRN specialty, cardiology preferred BLS and ACLS certification required Experience in cardiovascular or cardiothoracic surgery preferred First Assist certification or willingness to obtain preferred Strong clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills
Schedule:
Full-time, with flexibility for hospital coverage and potential OR time May include rotating weekends or on-call responsibilities
