Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Care:

Conduct pre-operative assessments and post-operative follow-ups. Perform daily inpatient rounds, write orders, and manage discharge planning. Assist in outpatient clinics for cancer surveillance and follow-up. First assist in surgical procedures. Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with surgeons. Provide patient education regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and recovery.

Coordination & Communication:

Act as a liaison between patients, families, nursing staff, and physicians. Facilitate referrals to other specialties andmunity resources. Participate in tumor boards and multidisciplinary care meetings.

Documentation & Compliance:

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record, Epic. Ensurepliance with institutional policies and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in Nursing (NP) or Physician Assistant Studies Current Indiana state licensure as NP or PA Certification in surgical or oncology specialty preferred (e.g., AOCNP)

BLS/ACLS

certification DEA license Minimum 2-3 years of experience in oncology or surgical care preferred

Skills & Competencies:

Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills. Excellentmunication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Familiarity with Epic and clinical documentation standards.

STONE FAMILY CENTER

Evansville is home to the new Stone Center, which contains Indiana University School of Medicine - Evansville as well as programs for the University of Evansville and USI. More than 250 USI graduate-level students in the Master's of Science in Occupational Therapy, Master's of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice programs, and 120 undergraduate, senior nursing students will use the Stone Center.
