GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES

University Orthopedics is seeking a full-time dynamic, motivated PA to join the group in our Spine Division. This group is a high-volume practice that handles spine, sports, and joint procedures. The NP/PA will be responsible for the evaluation and nonoperative management of patients with musculoskeletal complaints and acute/chronic conditions.

Essential Job Functions:

Maintain an independent schedule and evaluate patients independently as well as under the direction of the supervising physicians. Perform routine outpatient procedures. Access, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic care patients. Assist physician in examining and diagnosing skeletal and joint problems. Order and interpret test results and recommended treatment of patients. Administer injections as needed when indicated. Provide post-procedure patient care. Pre and post-procedure follow-up and patient evaluation. Consult for pharmaceutical or interventional treatments. Write scripts and patient education. Evaluate X-ray, CT scan, and MRI. Other duties as assigned to meet practice needs.

Requirements:

Must be licensed as a Physician Assistant in the State of Massachusetts. 2 years experience as an PA or a new PA graduate with orthopedic/neurosurgery experience Interpersonal skills including excellent communication skills to deal effectively with staff, patients, and physicians in a knowledgeable, professional, and courteous manner Professional, pleasant, and enthusiastic demeanor. Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient records. Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested. Participates in professional development activities to keep current with health care trends and practices
