Healthcare Professionals accepted) Orthopaedic PA - Great opportunity to join a Non-Profit, Independent, Financially Sound, Hospital affiliated Multi-specialty group on the Massachusetts | Connecticut border. Group is seeking an experienced orthopedic physician assistant to join 4 physicians, physician assistants, nurses, medical assistants and support staff in an orthopedics dept. that provides expert care for all ages. The Team diagnoses and treats arthritis, fractures, joint deterioration, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Ganglion cysts, simple aches and pains, and complex sports injuries, among other conditions. The orthopedic Physician Assistant will perform comprehensive and problem-focused history's and physical examinations. Interpret laboratory and diagnostic procedures to establish a working diagnosis. Implement therapeutic intervention for specific conditions. Order and perform diagnostic procedures and studies, including EMG, X-ray examinations and interpretation, Special x-ray examinations, including CT, MRI, and Bone Scans. The Orthopedic Physician Assistant may also perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including Brace, cast, and splint applications, Closed reduction of fractures and dislocations, Injection of joints, Joint and bursa aspirations, Tendons, Trigger points and bursa. Additional duties include ordering, prescribing, dispensing, and administering medication. Ordering, prescribing, dispending, and administering orthosis, orthotics, braces, and other orthopedic devices. The Orthopedic Physician Assistant will work predominantly in an office and hospital setting and possibly assist in operating room on select surgeries. Massachusetts Physician Assistant License, Prescriptive Authority, Basic Life Support and 2 years practice experience, preferably in an orthopedic or surgical setting.
