- West Michigan SUD clinics Deliver compassionate, recovery-focused care Hourly Contingent (10-12 hours per week) Physician Assistant At Samaritas, our Medication‑Assisted Treatment (MAT) and Substance Use Disorder (SUD) services provide whole‑person care to individuals on their path to recovery.
Job Qualifications Education, Training, and Licensure/Certification Physician Assistant Required Education and Licensure:
Possess and maintain a valid State of Michigan License as a Physician Assistant in good standing Pass the PANCE (Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam) Maintain active certification with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) Valid State and Federal licenses to prescribe and administer MAT medication Hold or acquire and maintain appropriate DEA wavered status to prescribe MAT Hold or acquire and maintain appropriate training requirements applicable to MAT Prior experience working with an interdisciplinary team is preferred Knowledge Skills and Abilities Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagrammatic forms. Knowledge of various substances of abuse, the disease of addiction and signs and symptoms of detoxification. Knowledge of process and procedures to complete medical evaluations for youth and adolescents. Ability to use an Electronic Medical Record system. Must be able to function in an independent team setting, be flexible in attitude, and desire to provide holistic care for clients. Ability to understand and follow oral & written directions. Good interpersonal communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality with client, employee and organization information. Ability and willingness to work as part of a team in achieving common goals. Ability to work constructively with staff and other stakeholders. Ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural context. Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English. Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to prepare letters, summaries and reports using prescribed format and conforming to rules of punctuation, grammar, diction and style. Ability to manage multiple functions of a complex organization. Strong organizational skills. Physical and Mental Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods; hand-eye coordination; hand and finger dexterity; near visual acuity.Expected hours:
8- 12 per week
