Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist and/or Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate would offer high-quality care and specialized therapy services designed for patients undergoing total joint procedures in Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC), focusing on safety, fall prevention, and mobility.
Duties:
Instruct patients on safe movement and transfer techniques post-surgery to facilitate a safe transition home. Educate patients and caregivers on how to safely assist with household transfers and mobility. Offer guidance on safe stair navigation during the recovery phase. Provide immediate post-operative care to assist with pain management. Train caregivers to ensure they are well-prepared with the necessary knowledge and skills to support the patient's recovery and deliver optimal care. Qualifications Appropriate degree from an accredited PT or PTA program. Current state licensure as a PT, or PTA. Current BLS certification Experience or knowledge in orthopedics and post surgical care is preferred, but not required Familiarity with medical terminology and a solid understanding of physiology is essential. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members is a must. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to enhance the patients overall recovery.
