Job Description

Department Lakes ENT Employment Status 0.6 FTE (Full-Time Equivalent) - 32 hours per week scheduled patient care time; 4 hours per week administrative time. Benefit Status Full-Time Hours Day Shift Position Objective The ENT Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner provides care through assessment, planning, coordination, and intervention. The position delegates aspects of care to nursing personnel and other disciplines upon their job descriptions. Essential Responsibilities The following description of responsibilities to be performed is not intended to be all-inclusive. Rather, it focuses on the major tasks that must be accomplished. Provide assessment for patients experiencing ear, nose, throat and neck issues Provide direct treatment to patients, including minor medical procedures Establish diagnosis and treatment plan for patients in conjunction with the Otolaryngology (ENT) Physician Other Responsibilities Perform all other related duties as assigned in a professional and responsive manner Demonstrate the ability to use relevant equipment Support, understand, and promote Alomere Health's mission, vision, values, policies and procedures Ability to meet the work schedule requirements with flexibility dependent upon the needs of the department Foster respectful working relationships with professional colleagues, patients, families, and general public regardless of age, gender, lifestyle, culture, beliefs, race, socioeconomic class, or ability Required Qualifications Graduate of accredited PA or NP program Maintain National Certification Eligible for registration with MN Board of Medical Practice First Aid and BLS Certification Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong communication and computer skills Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working effectively as a team member with physicians and other staff Physical Demands Floor to Waist Lift (Occasionally)35 lbs to assist in a patient transfer Waist to Crown Lift (Frequently) 3 lbs Short Carry (Frequently) 5 lbs including charts and supplies Front Carry (Occasionally) 25 lbs Pushing (Occasionally) 32 lbs force Pulling (Occasionally) 41 lbs force Page Break Forward Bend in Standing (Occasionally) to perform patient cares Elevated Work (Occasionally) to access supplies Repetitive Squat (Occasionally) to perform patient cares Kneeling (Occasionally) to perform patient cares Sitting (Occasionally) monitor patients and perform charting Standing (Frequently) perform patient cares Walking (Frequently) perform patient cares Other (Frequently) repetitive finger motion to operate computer Occasionally = 1% to 33% (up to 3 hours per shift) Frequently = 34% to 66% (3 to 6 hours per shift) Continuously = 67% to 100% (6 to 8+ hours per shift)
