Cardiothoracic Surgery Position Summary:

AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center is seeking a motivated PA/APP to join our Cardiothoracic Surgery team through a structured Clinical Training Pathway designed to develop advanced surgical and peri-operative skills. This role is ideal for candidates with strong interest in CT Surgery who are eager to grow in a hands-on, highly supportive environment.

Preferred Background:

Experience on a surgical floor, surgical/CT ICU, or prior exposure to CT Surgery Comfort managing post-operative patients within a multidisciplinary care team

Training & Professional Development:

Comprehensive training in first assisting, endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH), and peri-operative patient management Structured 1-2 year development period with progressive responsibility as competencies are achieved Ongoing mentorship from experienced CT Surgery PAs and attending surgeons Key Responsibilities (as competencies are met): Participate in first assist responsibilities for adult cardiothoracic surgical procedures Perform (or train to perform) endoscopic vein harvesting for CABG cases Manage post-operative patients in the ICU, step-down, and inpatient units Collaborate closely with surgeons, APPs, residents, and nursing staff to support high-quality patient care
