Job Description

Compensation Mount Sinai South Nassau provides a salary range in good faith determination of potential compensation to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Dept Of Orthopedics Position Summary Summary:
The Physician Assistant assists in any function relating to the diagnosis and treatment of patients, under the supervision of an attending physician, within the hospital. The physician assistant is concerned with preventing, maintaining, and treating human illness and injury by providing a broad range of health care services that are traditionally performed by a physician. Physician assistants conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret tests, counsel on preventive health care, assist in surgery, and write prescriptions.
Qualifications Responsibilities:
Education Required
  • Must complete in-house orientation program
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
  • Certified, or eligible for certification, by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Experience And Skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Speaks, reads and writes English
  • Current demonstrated competence and an adequate level of current experience, documenting the ability to provide services at an acceptable level of quality and efficiency.
  • Experience and/or skills in area of practice.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Good problem solving and analytical skill License/Certifications
Licensure:
Current New York State Department of Education Registration/Certification
    Continuing Education Units:
    CMEs as required by NYS to maintain licensure
      Certifications:
      Current
      BLS, ACLS
      • Certified, or eligible for certification, by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants Working Conditions Other information: Working Conditions
      • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worn
      • Frequent, prolonged standing/walking, lifts, positions and/or transfer of patients.
