Job Description

Delphi Healthcare is actively seeking an experienced Emergency Department Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) for a locum tenens ED/UCC assignment at a hospital-based emergency department in New York State . This is a high-acuity, fast-paced clinical environment ideal for an APP with prior Emergency Medicine experience who is confident managing both adult and pediatric patients independently while working closely with supervising physicians and the ED care team.

$100 $120 per hour (DOE)

ASAP (flexible scheduling options available) Clinical Responsibilities As a key member of the Emergency Department team, the APP will be responsible for providing high-quality, efficient care in a high-volume acute care setting.
Responsibilities include:
Performing comprehensive patient evaluations including history, physical exams, and medical decision-making Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, EKGs) Developing and implementing treatment plans for a wide range of acute and urgent conditions Managing both adult and pediatric emergency/UCC presentations Performing selected procedures within scope of practice and privileging (e.g., laceration repair, splinting, wound care, I&D, etc.) Collaborating closely with Emergency Medicine physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff Ensuring accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) Participating in efficient patient flow and maintaining departmental throughput standards Required Qualifications Active New York State Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) license Prior Emergency Department or Urgent Care experience strongly preferred Current ACLS and BLS certification required PALS preferred (or willingness to obtain) Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting Excellent communication and teamwork skills Ideal Candidate This role is best suited for an APP who thrives in acute care environments and is comfortable managing a diverse patient population with varying levels of acuity. Prior experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, or high-volume walk-in settings is highly valued.
