Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Locum Physician Assistant - Hematology/Oncology for our client in New York! Responsibilities Provide specialized clinical services within an outpatient oncology and hematology clinic experiencing active program growth. Manage a daily patient caseload averaging 18 to 20 patients per day. Administer, manage, and oversee specialized treatments and procedures including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and hormone therapy. Conduct occasional inpatient clinical consultations as required by the facility. Document all patient assessments, treatment progressions, and care plans accurately using the Epic EMR system. Collaborate dynamically within a multidisciplinary team consisting of an MD, a Nurse Practitioner, and dedicated clinical support staff to manage a 15-chair infusion unit. Qualifications Physician Assistant with a specialized focus or strong background in Hematology and Oncology. Board-Certified or Board-Eligible status. Active state medical license matching the facility's location.
Schedule Coverage dates:
Starting 8/3/2026 for a 6-month initial duration.
Structure:
Standard 5-day work week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (8-hour shifts); scheduled hours are combined with weeknight call requirements (all nights).
Commitment:
Full-time availability is highly preferred, though flexibility may be extended for candidates close to a full-time schedule. Overtime applies after 40 hours in a week.
Work setting:
Primarily an outpatient clinic setting with rare inpatient consults.
Credentialing timeframe:
Standard 60-90 days. Skills Proficiency in oncology and hematology clinical protocols, side-effect management, and advanced therapeutic interventions. Technical expertise in navigating and utilizing the Epic EMR system for clinical workflows. Ability to maintain an efficient, high-quality clinical pace with 18-20 patient encounters per day. Strong adaptability, flexibility, and communication skills tailored for a rapidly expanding clinical program. High efficiency in time management and cross-functional coordination between outpatient clinic demands and overnight call duties. All travel expenses are reimbursed by our client and Orchard covers malpractice insurance with tail coverage!
