Job Description

MetroHealth is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join our Colorectal Surgery team. The Colorectal Surgery APP provides specialized outpatient care for patients with anorectal conditions. Working collaboratively with colorectal surgeons and the multidisciplinary team, the APP delivers high-quality evaluation and management in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate and manage patients with anorectal disorders (hemorrhoids, fissures, fistulas, abscesses, pruritus ani, functional anorectal complaints). Perform independent patient assessments and office-based procedures. Provide postoperative management and ensure continuity of care. Coordinate surgical care when operative intervention is needed. Support rapid access for urgent anorectal concerns to improve patient flow and outcomes. Experience in surgery or colorectal care is preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
Requirements:
Nurse Practitioner (NP): Current Registered Nurse (RN) license and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in the State of Ohio Completion of an accredited NP program (FNP, AGNP, or ACNP accepted depending on clinical background) National NP certification (ANCC, AANP, or equivalent) DEA license or eligibility (including ability to prescribe Schedule II medications) BLS and ACLS certifications (or ability to obtain upon hire) Prior surgical or procedural experience preferred but not required Physician Assistant (PA): Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program Current Physician Assistant license in the State of Ohio NCCPA certification DEA license or eligibility to prescribe Schedule II medications BLS and ACLS certifications (or ability to obtain upon hire) Previous surgical or colorectal experience preferred but not required
