In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive patient care across various medical settings, including hospital, outpatient, and urgent care environments. Your expertise will support diagnosis, treatment, and management of diverse medical conditions, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team committed to excellence in healthcare delivery and patient advocacy. Responsibilities Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history intake, and diagnostic evaluation. Assist in procedures such as suturing, injection administration, and basic aseptic techniques while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations. Manage acute pain and airway emergencies using appropriate protocols; operate ventilators and neonatal ventilators as needed. Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient encounters, medication administration, and data collection. Participate in clinical research trials, collect data for quality improvement initiatives, and contribute to research publications when applicable. Support hospital-based care including ICU, Level I & II trauma centers, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), and inpatient units by triaging patients and providing critical care interventions. Collaborate with physicians and specialists in areas such as infectious disease care, hospice & palliative medicine, occupational health, and emergency medicine to optimize patient treatment plans. Requirements Valid Physician Assistant license with current certification; NCCPA certification preferred. Proven experience in hospital medicine or emergency room settings with Level I or Level II trauma center exposure highly desirable. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks; experience with telehealth platforms is a plus. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding (ICD-9 & ICD-10), CPT coding for procedures, and diagnostic evaluation techniques. Skilled in performing physical examinations, patient assessment, suturing, phlebotomy, and IV infusion procedures. Experience with ventilator management, airway management techniques, dialysis procedures, and catheterization is advantageous. Ability to handle complex cases involving acute care scenarios like spinal taps or gastric lavage; familiarity with infection control protocols essential. Excellent communication skills for patient education on health coaching topics such as nutrition, addiction counseling, family planning or geriatrics. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams in hospital or outpatient settings while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
