Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Cardiac Surgery

Job Summary Geisinger's Heart & Vascular Institute is seeking a physician assistant or nurse practitioner to join the Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery team located at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania. Job Duties Join an experienced and welcoming surgeon and advanced provider group. This role is split between practicing as first assistant in the operating room including endoscopic vein harvesting, ICU management with advanced life sustaining device management such as ECMO and LVAD, and some clinic time. The surgery team is strongly supported by an equally distinguished cardiology group providing a full range of services, including advanced EP, structural heart disease procedures, cardio-oncology and heart failure. Experienced physician assistants, nurse practitioners and excellent facilities make for an efficient, pleasant work environment. The successful Physician Assistant must be a graduate of a ARC-approved physician assistant program, eligible or certified by the National Commission for the Certification of Physician Assistants and eligible or certified by the State Board of Medicine. The successful Nurse Practitioner candidate will have a certificate of completion from an approved program for Nurse Practitioners and must be eligible for or certified by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing. An acute care certification is required for this position. Must be certified to work with all patient population age groups.
