About the Role We are seeking a compassionate, motivated Physician Assistant to join our collaborative care team. This role is ideal for a PA who values meaningful patient relationships and the ability to practice medicine in an innovative, fast-growing environment. The Physician Assistant will provide comprehensive primary care services, collaborate closely with physicians and clinical staff, and play an active role in delivering an exceptional patient experience. Key Responsibilities and Duties The Physician Assistant will provide comprehensive primary care services to patients across the lifespan in a collaborative, team-based setting. Clinical Responsibilities
- Screen patients to determine the need for medical attention.
- Obtain and document patient histories and review medical records.
- Perform physical examinations, diagnose illnesses, and develop treatment plans.
- Manage acute and chronic conditions, including diabetes, hypertension, and common infections.
- Order, interpret, and review laboratory tests, X-rays, and EKGs.
- Identify normal and abnormal findings from patient histories, physical exams, and diagnostic studies.
- Prescribe medications in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Provide counseling on wellness, immunizations, and preventative health maintenance.
- Initiate evaluation and initial emergency management of urgent medical conditions when appropriate.
- Collaborate with physicians and other providers for consultation and referral. Clinical Procedures
- Suturing and care of minor lacerations
- Injections and venipuncture
- Intradermal testing
- Electrocardiograms (EKGs)
- Control of hemorrhage and wound care
- Application of dressings and bandages
- Removal of superficial foreign bodies
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
- Use of aseptic and isolation techniques Clinical Operations & Care Coordination
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) within a 24-hour timeframe.
- Prepare patient summaries and clinical documentation as needed.
- Initiate requests for commonly performed laboratory and radiographic studies.
- Triage patient telephone calls and manage Spruce messaging
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to manage after-hours and weekend patient communication as needed. Administrative & Professional Responsibilities
- Participate in decisions related to daily clinical operations.
- Engage in professional activities that support the advancement of the Physician Assistant profession.
- Complete required continuing medical education (CME) to maintain certification.
- Perform additional duties as directed by the supervising physician.
What You Need to Succeed Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program Current PA license in the state of Pennsylvania NCCPA certification Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to provide clear, thorough documentation in a timely manner Comfort working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial healthcare environment Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems Commitment to patient-centered, relationship-based care Women's Health experience a plus Additional Information - We Take Care of Our People We value our employees and recognize the importance of work/life balance.
