Provider Specialty Cardiothoracic Surgery Overview:
The Cardiothoracic Surgery (CTS) Advanced Practice Provider team at Sentara Heart Hospital (SHH) is seeking a full time APP to support our Cardiac OR and ICU in Norfolk, VA. This role is devoted to the care of the peri-operative CTS patient population in the OR and ICU setting. The
CTS OR/ICU APP
ensures best practices are implemented for the cardiothoracic surgery patient through all phases of care, pre-operatively through outpatient follow-up. Ongoing, active participation and evaluation of quality care initiatives, improvements, patient care outcomes, and overall effectiveness of the CTS program is required. This is a rotating schedule including call, nights, and weekends. The ideal candidate is one with a dedication for high quality care and excellence in customer service. A cardiothoracic surgery background and at least two years of advanced practice experience in an acute care clinical setting is highly preferred. Critical care and operative background preferred. Preference given to candidates with endoscopic vein harvest experience.
Position Highlights:
Nationally recognized physicians, superior quality, and innovative technology >2300 cardiac procedures per year, including ECMO, thoracic, and heart transplant; no pediatrics 23-bed CSICU at 543-bed quaternary care facility for specialized care, offering a multitude of medical and surgical specialties; Level 1 Trauma Center Practice at the top of your license, serving as first assist in the OR and performing vein harvesting 100% inpatient responsibilities Incentives $10,000 Commencement Bonus (payable on first paycheck) $10,000 Retention Bonus ($5,000 paid at end of years 2 and 3)
