Job Description
We are searching for a Physician Assistant - NICU — someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will practice in an advanced role to provide developmentally-appropriate and age-appropriate health maintenance for population focused specialty. You'll work under a delineation of clinical privileges and work collaboratively with other members of the health care team, including the attending physicians, resident physicians and fellow physicians to provide comprehensive patient care in accordance with the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners. You'll practice under established guidelines and clinical protocols, assume independent and interdependent responsibilities in the assessment, diagnosis and initiation of treatment and procedures. Job duties are performed in a manner that is appropriate for the ages of patients served. You'll also be responsible for education, research, consultation and evaluation of clinical practice at various levels. Think you've got what it takes? Job Duties & Responsibilities Provide medical services that are within the education and training of the Physician Assistant within the scope of practice and delegation of the supervising physician Obtain a comprehensive health, developmental, and family history on patients and documents appropriately in the patient's medical record Differentiate between normal and abnormal findings and documents appropriately in the patient's medical record Prescribe or administer medications as delegated by the supervising physician and documents in medical records Administer appropriate vaccines as observed by physicians and documented in medical records Order diagnostic tests consistent with differential diagnoses derived from gathered data as evidenced by types of tests ordered Foster collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to improve health care Establish a relationship with the patient/family characterized by mutual respect, empathy, and collaboration As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, all successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
