JOB DESCRIPTION UT
Health East Texas and the University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine are seeking an energetic and dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our world-class Cardiovascular Surgery team. The APP will play a vital role in providingprehensive care to patients across inpatient, outpatient, and operative settings — including first-assisting in robotic thoracic surgery. About the
Position:
7 on 7 off Manage the care of cardiovascular surgery patients in accordance with approved privileges and clinical protocols. Collaborate with 3 Surgeons, 2 Nurse Practitioners, and a supportive staff Collaborate with attending physicians to deliver safe, efficient, andpassionate care. Perform daily hospital rounds, review labs and imaging, and manage clinical progress independently and in consultation with the attending. Document daily inpatient progress notes and coordinate multidisciplinary discharge planning. Participate in and lead quality-improvement initiatives to enhance patient oues and experience. Provide preoperative and postoperative patient management and education. Serve as first assist in Cardiovascular surgery cases — including robotic, minimally invasive, vein harvesting and open procedures.
Qualifications:
Master's degree and national certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA). Current licensure (or eligibility) to practice in the State of Texas. Prior experience in cardiovascular surgery, or related surgical specialty preferred. Strong clinical judgment,munication skills, and ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team. Commitment topassionate, evidence-based patient care and continuous learning.
