Job Description

IMMEDIATE OPENING
for a Full-time or Part-time Physician Assistant to support the Naval Health Center located in Virginia Beach, VA.
SPECIFIC TASKS.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Perform Deployment Health screenings, assess the results, treat patients, and refer patients for further treatment as appropriate. Web-enabled Periodic Heath Assessment and/or DoD directed health screenings shall also be utilized. Follow MTF specific referral/admission protocols, when seeing patients that requires an admission to the MTF Provide comprehensive health care for all ages and families in their Medical Home Port Team, but particularly their assigned patients, utilizing evidenced-based clinical practice guidelines and engage patients actively in their health care. Provide health maintenance and preventive services to individual patients as recommended by accepted guidelines. Engage in proactive population-based health management, providing regular surveillance to patient's need for preventive services and management of chronic disease leveraging information technology decision support tools and the members of the medical home port team. Precept students (residents, NP, PA, IDC etc.) and new staff members as directed
Education:
Bachelor's degree. Graduate from an accredited college or university certified by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education of the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA). Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician's Assistants (NCCPA).
Licensure:
Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant.
