Job Description

JOB REQUIREMENTS- CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT
Education Completion of high school or its equivalent and CMA (AAMA) or RMA (AMT). Knowledge of computer software such as Windows, Office and Internet use. Ability to perform support activities in patient care as required through completion of an CMA (AAMA) or RMA (AMT) Certification Examination. Experience The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a clinical or outpatient setting, with responsibilities including direct patient care, rooming patients, assisting with procedures, and other intake elements. Candidates must demonstrate competency in patient care and safety practices. Previous experience in a clinic or outpatient setting is preferred but not required. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and comfort working in a fast-paced clinic environment are essential. Physical This is a safety sensitive position. Close eye work. Hearing within normal and soft tones. Distinguish smells. Distinguish temperatures by touch and proximity. Lifting up to 100 lbs. Carrying up to 40 lbs. Pushing/pulling up to 350 lbs. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping and reaching. Occasional stress related to patient load.
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for performing assigned patient care activities and assisting licensed nursing personnel. Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, licensed nurse, licensed physician, or designee. Incumbents are subject to overtime and call-back as required by facility. Attendance is an essential function of this job.
JOB REQUIREMENTS- PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN
Education Skills and proficiency in oral and written grammar, communication, and basic mathematics as acquired through official completion of high school or its equivalent. Ability to perform support activities in patient care acquired through either: 1) licensed as a CNA through the Office of Long Term Care (current or previous), 2) completion of a state approved CNA training program 3) completion of a minimum of one semester of an RN/LPN program with a nursing skills checklist completed by the nursing instructor (for those currently enrolled in an approved nursing program). Experience Knowledge of patient care technician practices and related patient care activities and clinic policies and procedures as acquired through on-the-job training. Knowledge of basic non-technical skills as acquired through on-the-job training or two years experience. Physical This is a safety sensitive position.
