About the Clinician's WorkdayThe cardiothoracic surgeon will provide 24-hour call coverage for inpatient cardiothoracic surgery services, managing patients across pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases of care.

Responsibilities include surgical coverage in the operating room, consult services, daily rounding, and availability for urgent and emergent cardiac surgery cases.

Required procedures include CABG (on and off pump), valve surgery (AVR, MVR, TAVR), ECMO, emergent post-PCI intervention, Type A Aortic Dissections, and chest exploration, re-entry, and postoperative bleeding management.

The clinician will collaborate with the ICU team, cardiology, interventional cardiology, anesthesia, APPs, perfusionists, and OR staff to ensure coordinated patient care.

Board certification is required for this assignment.
