The hospital seeks coverage for specialized gastroenterology procedures including advanced interventional capabilities. About the Facility Location Yuma features notable historical attractions including the Yuma Territorial Prison State Historic Park and Castle Dome Mines Museum alongside natural recreation opportunities at Martinez Lake and Kofa National Wildlife Refuge. Visitors can explore hiking trails at Telegraph Pass, Muggins Mountain, and Painted Desert Trail, or enjoy golf at Desert Hills Municipal Golf Course. The region offers both cultural sites and outdoor activities spanning from desert conservation areas to wildlife refuges. About the Clinician's Workday The gastroenterologist will provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology services during 24-hour call shifts starting at 7AM and continuing until 7AM the next morning. The clinician will work in-house from 7AM-4PM with a 1-hour lunch break, managing 6-8 patients per day with peak season volumes reaching 10-12 patients daily. The position requires performing advanced procedures including colonoscopy, upper GI endoscopy, ERCP, polypectomy, biopsy, proctoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, sphincterotomy, stone removal, biliary and pancreatic stent placement, PEG procedures, and variceal banding with ERCP procedures required and EUS preferred. Board certification and active Arizona license or IMLC are mandatory requirements for this assignment.
