Psychiatrist

Job summary Under the general direction of the Clinical Program Director, Psychiatrists provide psychiatric and medical evaluations, psychotropic and consultant services, and psychiatric case reviews and record keeping. Psychiatrists provide medication evaluation and monitoring services to children and adolescents, coordinate therapeutic and medication treatments with family members and clinical staff, and utilize independent clinical judgment and sensitivity to cross-cultural factors. They participate in agency-wide on-call and crisis walk-in coverage, along with targeted staff and community meetings. Psychiatrists provide appropriate case management services and consultation to school, medical, and other professional agencies. They review reports and other medical/psychological findings, and provide information to clinical staff. Psychiatrists consult with other clinicians to aid in supervisory review and peer review of assigned patients, and document patient treatment and progress for proper maintenance of patient's record. They abide by all ethical standards of their profession. Minimum requirements

Education:

M.D. or D.O, and completion of a psychiatric residency. Must be licensed in the State of California. Minimum of three (3) years experience working with emotionally disturbed children and adolescents (preferably in both inpatient and outpatient settings) required. Working knowledge of Medi-Cal and related regulations, including documentation requirements preferred.
